Mary Immaculate High School invited me to teach an all day workshop as a visiting Artist; the workshop took place on 24th October 2007. The workshop involved a GCSE class creating work based on the project of Nature, which tied in well with my painting subject of flowers. The objective of the day was to produce a finished painting on canvas, the workshop was highly commended by the head master. As part of the Tudful Arts Festival held annually in Merthyr Tydfil I taught a workshop to the members of Ynysowen Arts Society; the workshop took place on 23 October 2007 10am-2pm. The title of the workshop was Painting with Joanne Smith and involved myself giving a talk about my paintings and inspirations and then teaching a workshop based on my personal art practice which is Flowers.
I taught a day long workshop at Bay Art, Cardiff Bay on 39th June 2007. The workshop involved myself and two other Artists working with groups and families in various locations around Cardiff Bay; the drawings that were produced by the participants were shown in the Gallery throughout August 2007 as part of the Intergenerational Landscape Drawing Project.
